  • Motivates patients to immediate action.

CARDIO METABOLIC TESTING

TESTING  FOR  8  ESSENTIAL  RISK  FACTORS

CARDIO METABOLIC TESTING

CMAT (Cardio Metabolic Assessment Test) performs a series of non-invasive tests which aid in the identification and early detection of autonomic nervous dysfunction related to disorders and disease complications.  It is designed to detect abnormalities years before there might be clinical symptoms or blood work abnormalities.  It can help with diagnosis of peripheral artery disease, arterial stiffness, neuropathy, risk of heart disease, cardio-metabolic syndrome, diabetes and autonomic nervous system dysfunction.

HOW DOES THE SYSTEM WORK?

  Simplifying your complex decisions.

The CMAT (Cardio-Metabolic Assessment Test) includes the following tests to determine these clinical outcomes, and comprises:

Sudomotor Function Tests

using Sympathetic skin response via disposable electrodes following a predetermined double sysmpathetic stimulation ( electrical and metaboreflex), "not" patient or operator dependent, in order to get reproducible results.

Volume Plethysmography Analysis

from the oscillometric method in order to calculate the brachia! ankle pulse wave velocity and peripheral Augmentation Index ratio.

Cardiac Autonomic Reflex Tests or Ewing Tests:

using the Photoplethysmography analysis to accurately detect the beat to beat heart rate during the Vasalva Maneuver, Deep Breathing Exercises and Postural Changes

Ankle Brachia! Index

(ABI) and optional Toe Brachia! Index ( TBI) measurements using oscillometric method and volume plethysmography at 2 levels

 PATIENT SCREENING PROCEDURE

Screenings are non invasive typically performed in 10 minutes. Recording includes a baseline phase where patient is relaxed followed by a testing phase where the patient is asked to perform breathing exercises.

CMRS (Cardio Metabolic Risk Score) is calculated based on several recorded parameters and allows a fast and intuitive interpretation of the results. CMRS is a marker for pre diabetes, diabetes and CVD (Cardio Vascular Disease) risks as stated by University of Miami in their latest study.

SYSTEM BENEFITS

ADA and AHA Guidelines State:

  •  TM Flow System imbalance assessment is necessary.

  • Vascular and neural diseases are closely related and intertwined.                Blood vessels depend on normal nerve function, and nerves depend on adequate blood flow.

  • Not infrequently, the physicians face patients who have chronic metabolic disease or other co-morbid conditions and symptoms. At times, differentiating vascular from neuropathic disorder can be difficult.  It is imperative to distinguish between autonomic neuropathy and vascular disease because the treatments are quite different.

ADOPT A LONG TERM, PREVENTATIVE MEDICINE APPROACH

Changing from a reactive practice to a proactive wellness philosophy backed by technology creates a goodwill partnership between doctors and patients.

It can have a dramatic effect on the well-being of patients and the successful operation of the practice. The family practitioner is no longer the emergency doctor. The role of the physician now requires a whole-person philosophy and the foundation for such a practice starts with integrated early screening and the healthy partnership it fosters.
